Nearly three years ago, in my early 60’s and knowing I needed to improve my levels of general fitness, flexibility and core strength, I finally got got round to signing up for a weekly Pilates class with Lisa. ‘Better late than never’, they say and very appropriate too. Those first weeks were very difficult as I tried to concentrate on breathing and balancing properly, as well as mustering enough strength and stamina to carry out each exercise for as long and as well as possible. The wonderful thing about the way in which Lisa teaches her class is her ability to talk each move through from basic to advanced so that we each work at our own level. And, yes, we are encouraged to challenge ourselves but not before we are ready. As a result I do feel physically and mentally fitter and the online sessions have been such a blessing through the tough months of 2020.

She is a really inspirational and enthusiastic teacher – no matter what level you are working at, the class is always relevant and she seems to have an uncanny ability to keep an eye on everyone in the class at once. Pilates has made a huge difference to my strength and flexibility and I feel has really helped the creakiness in my back and other joints that I had previously.

I have been attending Lisa’s Pilates classes for over 5 years and was a complete beginner when I started. Lisa makes everyone feel very welcome and she has the ability to adapt each move to the level and needs of the individual. Pilates challenges your body, strengthens your core, looks after your back and keeps your joints moving so attending regular classes has been of enormous benefit. Lisa creates a friendly, supportive atmosphere and manages to vary her classes whilst always staying true to the technique of Pilates.

During lockdown my ex rugby player husband started doing the online classes with me. They’ve really helped with his movement and aches and pains from years of rugby injuries. He now swears by Pilates and will do every class he can, they’ve definitely helped him.

I’ve been coming to Lisa’s Pilates classes for a few years now & I can only say it’s been the best decision I made in years for my fitness. I’ve been running for many years & though thoroughly enjoying it, I realised I needed to do something else & bring a different dynamic & balance to my body. Right from the very start, Lisa has been welcoming & friendly & her classes, though hard work, are fun & enjoyable.

Lisa’s Pilates knowledge is vast & varied & it shows in her classes. They are structured in such a way that you work within part of the larger group, but at the same time are given the opportunity to work at your own pace, level of fitness & ability – the classes are totally inclusive, no one is ever made to feel that they’re not keeping up or that they’re not as good as the others around them.

On the occasions that I, or others within the class have been suffering with an injury or little niggle, again this is never a problem for Lisa. She will as she goes along, offer you an alternative way to compete the exercise (or another suitable one in it’s  place) to ensure you’re still getting the same benefits out of the move being done.

With the arrival of the Covid pandemic changing the way we all interact for the time being, Lisa’s classes moved into the virtual world & the experience has still been the same. I’ve been so grateful to Lisa for allowing that normality & routine (& her beautiful personality) to still be a part of my life in these strange times. Welcoming Pilates through Lisa into my life has been fantastic & I’ve no intention of stopping.

An excellent class; pitched just right for me!  Karen is a natural Pilates teacher, explaining all moves and stretches clearly, giving options for levels of difficulty along the way.  Good warm up, arms, lower back, buttocks and legs all receiving a work out.  Music and instruction really help as you work through the hour.

I’ve been doing Lisa’s Pilates class for over 8 years.  Lisa’s a great teacher. She lets you know if a move has an easier option, so you can work at a level you feel comfortable with, but also encourages you to try & have a go at the harder option.

I have dipped in and out of Pilates but always feel better when I’m in! I tried other classes with different instructors but I really wasn’t getting the same benefits as I felt from Lisa’s classes. The online classes have actually suited me as I can opt in at any time. I prefer the ‘lives’ but if I miss it I can catch up!

I have been taking Pilates classes with Lisa for over 10 years. She always makes the class fun but we have to work hard too! I have rheumatoid arthritis and I really feel the benefits of Pilates and really notice it if I miss a class. Every move is tailored to your own ability and need and if I struggle with a particular move, Lisa always has an alternative for me.

Lisa has taught me pilates for about 7 years. I was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc and offered an operation with a low success rate so I decided to try pilates. My back has been so much better thanks to Lisa. Her classes are for everyone and every ability. If for any reason I can’t do an exercise whether its because my back is bad or I just can’t do it Lisa makes sure there is an alternative, either an easier option or a different exercise altogether but still using the same muscles. I would highly recommend Lisa’s classes.
