About Us

Karen Curren
I started teaching group exercise in 1992 when Step first became popular, hiring the local Junior school hall & carrying my steps around in the back of my fiesta. I have continued teaching a variety of classes ever since. Some fitness crazes have been & gone but others have stood the test of time. Pilates is one of them.
I first took an interest in Pilates after the birth of my two boys when I started to participate in classes whenever I had the time. It really helped me to strengthen my pelvic floor, improve my neglected flexibility & bring balance & strength back to my body after years of doing high impact exercise.
I qualified with the Pilates Institute in 2001 & have continued studying, teaching & enjoying Pilates ever since, adding various forms of equipment training as Pilates has evolved. I really enjoy using the large Stability ball & have had great results with my participants seeing improvements in their core, pelvic floor & back strength.
I qualified to teach, ‘seniors’ in 2011, which back then meant over 50! As I am 56 it amuses me to think that I am a senior. I have found that you get all levels of fitness at all ages. Some of my fittest ladies are over 60 & some of the least fit are under 20.
I first met Lisa in 1998 when she participated in my LBT class in a local gym. I encouraged her to do the Exercise to Music qualification & then the Pilates qualification firstly because she was a natural & secondly because I was always short of a good cover instructor. We have been firm friends & advocates of Pilates ever since.

Lisa Webster
I began my fitness career in 2000 as an Exercise to Music Instructor teaching mainly aerobics and legs bums and tums. Prior to this I had been working in London for a Fashion Company, I then spent 7 years as a full time Mum bringing up our 3 boys so as soon as the youngest started school I just wanted a part-time job to escape the housework!
In 2001 Karen encouraged me to become a Pilates teacher so I trained with the Pilates Institute London my love of Pilates began and I have never looked back.
Since then I have gained qualifications in Pre & Post Natal Pilates, Level 4 Lower Back Pain Management, Personal Training and training Special Populations. I also worked for several years as a Tutor and Assessor for a training provider tutoring students for the Level 3 Pilates qualification bringing on many new instructors into the industry.
Teaching Pilates in the community and now online reaching people in their homes is so rewarding. Practicing Pilates has given me the tools physically and mentally to change my body and as a Pilates teacher I want my clients to gain these benefits too.
